I love the fact that Dr. Suzuki sees the potential in everyone and works so gently to bring forth the best in others. There are so many lessons to be learned from this. Personally, I have grown as a parent and a person by being involved with this practice.

It's nice to have things in our life that remind us to keep the Golden Rule at the heart of it all and help us to remember that "love is all we need". For me, it is sometimes a challenge to put love first, above anger and other emotions that come to the surface in daily life. Our family is Catholic, so in this season of Lent, we are reminded of Christ's deep love for us and his messages to us of the importance of love. What things do you hold dear in your life that keep the Golden Rule close to your heart? In the busyness and business of everyday life, is there something that helps you stop and remember to spread the love, even when you might not be feeling it?
My sweet mother lived by the Golden Rule and has taught me so much and even though she has been gone from our lives for almost 8 years, I keep going back to her spirit, remembering and thanking her for all that she has done for me. She worked so hard and shared the love everywhere she went and in whatever she did. I too hold my children and grandchildren dear in my heart and they inspire me to be the best that I can be every day. God has blessed me with peace and tranquility, which I don't always take advantage of, but I do try to keep peace between family and friends and share the love in my daily life. I spent the day with Sr. Mary Joseph from The Joseph House and kindness just overflows from her heart, which in turn inspires me to do more for others. Nothing should ever get in the way of love....it's a magical thing!
ReplyDeleteKate, as you see, we learn each day from small things around us how God works in our lives and he has especially blessed you :)

Read the Mirror of Relationships...very interesting. I would have never looked at things the way he does. I guess that's why his name is Deepok because he really gets "deep" - LOL :)
