Big Green Families?

I found an article that touched at something I've been thinking for a while, too:  big families aren't necessarily bad for the environment!

You can read it here:

Let me know what you think!

  1. I read this article and totally agree. We were a family of 4 children and nothing was wasted. The two girls bathed together and then the two boys. Larger families are always looking for ways to save money and therefore shop smarter and reuse more.
Does this mean you will be trying for child #4? (Only kidding) ..... or maybe not :)

  2. I think the woman in this article is the exception to the rule. The family of 10 is living at the extremes and it makes sense that they're green by default. They probably live closer to their extended family, too, so they have help. Less travel for get-togethers, less waste because of shared commodities, etc. It all makes sense.

The tougher part is getting a family of 4 that can't afford to have one adult at home with the kids and lives 100 miles from their nearest relative to be green.
